We act on every report within 24 hours — removing content, and suspending or permanently banning the account behind it. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. You can also report by email at founders@sonarconnections.com.
If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. Then email us so we can preserve records and remove the account.
Sonar shows people who are nearby and currently discoverable. If you are not at an active event or venue, the map will be quiet — that is expected, not a bug. Join an event from the Events tab to see its floor plan and its booths, which work whether or not anyone else is around.
GPS satellites are blocked by buildings. Inside a convention hall, your phone may have no usable fix at all. This is physics, not a defect — so indoors, Sonar leans on the floor plan instead of GPS: you find booths by the map and by asking DRW, neither of which needs a location fix. Outdoors, at street events and markets, location works normally.
DRW is Sonar's built-in assistant. Type or speak what you want — "where is the tamale booth," "who here does fraud detection," "take me to booth 12" — and it answers, or moves the map for you. It is powered by Google's Gemini models.
Profile photos are screened automatically and need to show one clear face, well lit, looking at the camera. Photos that are too dark, too blurry, contain no face, or contain unsafe content are rejected. Retake it in better light and try again.
Proximity is the product — without location there is no map, no venue check-in, and no nearby discovery. Location is read only while the app is open; there is no background tracking. Your exact position is never visible to other users. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
Open Profile → Settings → DELETE ACCOUNT and confirm. This is immediate, permanent, and removes your profile, photos, chats, connections, check-ins, location record, and your phone number itself. If you cannot get into the app, email us from a number or address we can verify and we will run the same deletion for you.
Codes arrive by SMS and can take up to a minute. Check that the number you entered is correct and that you have signal. If it still does not arrive, email us with the phone number you are trying to use.
