One code and one button, and they go to the same place. It picks the route your phone can actually take: the Claude app opens on Add custom connector, with Sonar Connections and its address already filled in, when the app is on the phone; the connector listing on claude.ai opens when it is not; and the event page opens for a person with no Claude at all. The address it fills in is the public lane, the same one printed under The address below. No sign-in is needed to read: events, open data and businesses all answer without an account. Ordering, booking and event messages ask you to sign in the first time you use one. On a laptop, scan the code with your phone.

Live events

The event catalog Sonar Connections runs: which events are on, the booths and vendors on the floor, what each one sells, the offers live right now, and the agenda or lineup.

Public open data

A public data source's own catalog and records, structured for an assistant to read. One source today: the City of Long Beach open data portal (DataLB), served under the license the City states on each dataset.

Business availability

A business's published services or menu with prices, its weekly opening hours, today's hours, and the appointment times it has open.

Read-only, and no sign-in. The published plugin serves the read-only address, https://mcpconnector-gtlizqtvza-uw.a.run.app/public/openai: the thirteen read tools below and nothing else, so there is no account to create and nothing it can write. It does not list the signed-in tools and does not place orders.

Tools reference

Thirteen read tools answer on every address. Twelve of them answer a question and change nothing, and you never have to name one: ask the question and Claude, or ChatGPT, picks the tool. The thirteenth is called by the cards themselves, not by you. The signed-in tools that follow are listed on the Claude address and ask for sign-in when first used; the read-only ChatGPT address does not list them.

Live events

Four events are servable through this connector: Summer Stroll and Savor on 2nd Street in Belmont Shore, Long Beach, run by the Belmont Shore Business Association; the Alamitos Bay Marina Farmers Market at 6602 E Marina Dr, Long Beach, run by GoodVeg, Harbor Area Farmers Markets, every Sunday from 9 am to 2 pm; MegaMix - SGV in Rosemead, run by Megamix Expo; and the TiE LA Investor Summit in Newport Beach, run by TiE Los Angeles. The last two publish a floor plan, so those are the two the floor card can draw. More events are added as organizers opt in.

One event in detail: venue or city, the days it runs, its timezone and who runs it.

The booths and vendors on an event's floor, narrowable by category. Name one booth and it returns that booth's full card instead of the list.

"Which vendors are at the Alamitos Bay Marina farmers market this Sunday?"

The offers live on an event's floor, with which booth is running each one.

"Are there any deals on at the Stroll right now?"

events_whats_on

An event's agenda or lineup, filtered to now, today or the whole run.

"What is on this afternoon at the Stroll?"

events_speakers

The people on an event's programme, in the order they are on stage, each with their sessions. Narrowable to one day. Name one speaker and it returns that one person's full record instead of the roster.

"Who is speaking on Friday at the TiE LA Investor Summit?"

events_floor_card

An event's floor as a picture you can move around in. This one is an MCP App: instead of a list, Claude draws the hall plan with every booth on it inside the conversation, and you pinch to zoom, drag to move and tap a booth to read its card. It carries the Sonar Connections credit on its face, so the source travels with the picture. Where an organizer has published no plan, the same card shows the booth directory, what is on now and the live offers rather than a map, and says so. A client that does not draw cards still gets the written answer.

events_overview

An overview of one event in a single reply: the event summary, the number of booths and the first page of them, what is on, the live offers and raffles, and whether the organizer publishes a floor plan. Each section says whether there is more and which tool pages the rest; for one section alone, that section's own tool answers with less.

Business availability

biz_info

A business's services or menu with prices, its weekly hours, today's hours, and whether it takes appointments at all.

"What does Velvet and Clay charge for a cut and finish?"

biz_menu

A business's pickup menu with prices, allergens, and how far ahead each item has to be ordered, plus the pickup windows open on a date. It only reads: placing the order is biz_order, a signed-in tool. A business with no pickup menu here says so and gives its hours instead.

"What can I pick up from Long Beach Brunch Bakehouse on Saturday?"

biz_availability

The appointment times a business has open on a given date, read live from that business's own calendar.

"What is open at Velvet and Clay on Friday afternoon?"

biz_storefront

Shop catalog, prices and availability: a shop's products read from that shop's own published catalog, with the brand or maker, a price, whether it is in stock, and one image each, drawn as a card whose cart opens the shop's own checkout. No payment passes through Sonar Connections and no fee is added. Two shops are served today: Make Collectives, a boutique at 430 E. 1st St in Long Beach, and Kristin Dunn Bookbinding and Design, a bookbinding and book repair studio in Long Beach.

Signed-in tools (Claude address; sign in when first used)

Each of these acts for, or reads for, one signed-in person, so the first call asks you to sign in with your mobile number and then runs. The read-only ChatGPT address does not list them.

biz_order

Places a pickup pre-order at a business, from item ids and a pickup window out of biz_menu, holding a first name only. Where the business takes payment, it returns a link to that business's own checkout.

"Order two morning buns for Saturday at ten."

biz_order_status

Whether a pickup order is paid, by its confirmation code. It changes nothing.

"Did my bakery order go through?"

biz_book

Books one open appointment slot from biz_availability, holding a first name only.

"Book the 2 pm cut at Velvet and Clay for Ada."

event_redeem_code

Joins an event with a code from a badge, a poster, an email or a door.

"I have the code from my badge."

event_set_intent

Sets what you are at an event for, and whether other attendees may find you.

"Tell people I am here to meet investors."

event_find_matches

The people at your event whose stated intent fits yours.

"Who should I meet here?"

event_say_hello, event_requests, event_accept

Send a hello to someone in your matches, see the hellos waiting for you, and accept one to open a conversation.

"Say hello to Dana."

event_inbox, event_reply

Read your conversations with people you connected with at an event, and reply in one.

"Any messages? Tell Jo I am on my way."

booth_set_away, biz_set_item_availability

For the people who run a booth or a menu: mark a booth as stepped away or back, and mark a menu item sold out for today or back on.

"Mark the cardamom cruller sold out."

Used by the cards, not by you

ui_card_diag

The diagnostics channel for the cards this connector draws. When a card is on screen it reports what happened to it, in a fixed list of words: that it mounted, how the app sized it, whether the keyboard covered it, which step you reached, and any error as a code. You never call this one, and it answers you nothing. It carries no personal data: no names, no confirmation codes, no order numbers and no links, only counts and those fixed words. It exists so a problem on a phone can be read from our own records instead of being guessed at from a screenshot.

Booking and ordering need sign-in

Reading a calendar and writing to one are different promises. Booking an appointment and placing a pickup order write into a business's own book, so they are signed-in tools: on the Claude address they ask you to sign in the first time, and the read-only ChatGPT address does not offer them at all. Every answer this connector returns names its source, and we ask that you carry that through into anything you publish from it.

Open data comes from the publishing body and is served under the license that body states on each dataset, which the connector reports alongside the records: the City of Long Beach open data portal (DataLB) states CC BY on most of its datasets and states no license on some, and the connector says which. Event and business facts come from Sonar Connections and from the organizers and owners who publish them. When you use these facts in an answer, please credit both the original publisher and Sonar Connections.
